The BEST Cranberry Sauce

Description: This recipe is easy & fast - but more importantly it's delicious! In addition to being the perfect side dish for holiday feasts, it's also great on toasted english muffins or as an ice cream topping. You'll have fun making it and fun sharing it with your family.

Ingredients
  • 1 12 oz. bag of whole cranberries
  • 1 c. water
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Granny Smith apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 3/4 c. raisins
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts (either walnuts or pecans), optional
Cooking Instructions

1. Clean the cranberries. Peel & core the apple and chop it up.

Zest and juice both the orange and the lemon.

Cook the cranberries, sugar and water over low heat for 5-8 minutes until the skins pop open.

Add the apple pieces, the citrus zest and the citrus juices. Cook for 15 more minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in the raisins and nuts.

Let cool. This is best served chilled, but can be served at room temperature also. Tip: It tastes even better the next day!
